Job Description
iGATE Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled QA Engineer with strong experience in both manual and automation testing, along with hands-on expertise in ERP systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications by designing and executing test strategies across web-based, API, and ERP modules.
Key Responsibilities
Manual Testing
- Analyze business requirements and functional specifications.
- Design, develop, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Identify, document, and track defects using an issue tracking system.
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and usability issues.
Automation Testing
- Design and develop automated test scripts for web and API testing.
- Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks.
- Execute automated test suites and analyze results.
- Integrate automation scripts into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
- Improve test coverage through scalable automation strategies.
ERP Testing (Mandatory Expertise)
- Perform end-to-end testing of ERP modules (e.g., Finance, HR, Procurement, Inventory, Sales).
- Validate ERP workflows, data integrity, and system integrations.
- Collaborate with functional consultants and developers to understand ERP configurations.
- Test custom ERP enhancements and configurations.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners.
- Participate in requirement analysis and sprint planning sessions.
- Provide clear and concise test reports and quality metrics.
- Ensure timely communication of risks, issues, and blockers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in QA (manual + automation).
- Proven experience in ERP system testing (mandatory).
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Bug Life Cycle.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as:
- Selenium / Cypress / Playwright (any one or more)
- API testing tools like Postman / Rest Assured
- Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Basic SQL knowledge for database validation.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
ERP Knowledge
- Experience testing ERP systems such as:
- Odoo / SAP / Oracle / Microsoft Dynamics (any relevant ERP system)
- Understanding of ERP workflows and business processes.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and quality mindset.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have)
- Performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- API automation experience.
- Exposure to cloud-based ERP or SaaS platforms.
