The QA Engineer II is responsible for ensuring software quality through functional, API,

integration, automation, and release validation activities. The role requires strong quality

engineering fundamentals, hands-on automation experience, understanding of microservices based

applications, service dependencies, integration flows, and release validation processes.

The engineer will work closely with Development, Product Management, Architecture,

DevOps, and Quality Engineering teams to deliver high-quality software and reliable

releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, UX Designers, and DevOps teams to ensure high product quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Analyse requirements, identify quality risks, and define validation scope.
  • Automation Testing, test case creation and maintenance.
  • Design and execute functional, API, integration, regression, exploratory, and end-to end testing.
  • Develop and maintain UI automation using Selenium or Playwright and API automation using Rest Assured.
  • Validating REST APIs, backend services, and integrations using API testing tools
  • Perform service-level testing independent of the user interface and support API contract validation where applicable.
  • Utilize dependency mappings and impact matrices to identify affected services, integrations, and validation scope.
  • Execute smoke, sanity, deployment, and release validation testing.
  • Support application setup, deployment validation, and environment verification using Docker-based environments.
  • Integrate automated validation into CI/CD pipelines and improve automation reliability and maintainability.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, tests, defects, and execution results.
  • Participate in defect triage, risk reviews, release readiness, and sign-off activities.
  • Follow established quality engineering standards and contribute improvement ideas to increase testing effectiveness and release confidence.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience in manual testing of web applications and enterprise software
  • Strong experience with UI, Functional, Regression, Integration, and End-to-End testing
  • Experience in API testing using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools
  • Hands-on experience with test automation using Selenium WebDriver or Playwright, or similar automation frameworks
  • Good programming/scripting knowledge in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python for automation development
  • Experience with defect management tools such as JIRA
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
  • Good understanding of backend data validation
  • Understanding of cloud-based applications and microservices architecture

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Experience testing web, SaaS, cloud, or microservices-based applications.
