Job Description:

Summary: Under the direction of department management, exercises responsibility for execution of Quality Assurance strategies and tactical plans at USBRP1 sites. This position develops priorities and objectives in cooperation with each site management team and oversees implementation. Position serves as a corporate resource to all Quality staff and management teams at all sites. This position exercises independent judgment routinely and operates within established guidelines.

Essential Functions: Includes the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by local management and some duties may not apply dependent upon the requirements of the position at each specific (HIAMS)AM site and/or the strengths of the employee and the needs of the company):

Developing and maintaining Quality Systems with specific focus on suppliers. Facilitating root cause analysis. Assisting in supplier development Visiting suppliers as necessary Implements, monitors and reviews SPC programs. Training technicians in Quality Measurement techniques and reporting. Providing support and data to other departments as necessary. Continually working to reduce defects in area of responsibility through cross functional continuous improvement teams. Cooperating with all other personnel as necessary. Daily/weekly/monthly Quality reports. Tracks continuous improvement through measurable reports/graphs. Responsible for scrap meetings daily and scrap reports weekly.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, skills & abilities: Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Possess ability to perform duties utilizing current company software applications. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required. This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner. Must be able to work from Engineering specifications, manuals, drawings, established procedures, verbal and written instructions, use a variety of precision measuring equipment. Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal. Must possess basic supervisory skills, SPC, FMEA, 8-D corrective action and DOE knowledge. KAIZEN activities.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field

Experience: At least 3 years prior related experience preferred. Less than 3 years of in-field experience can be supplemented by an advanced (Masters) degree. Six Sigma certification strongly preferred.

*Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervisory responsibilities may be possible to perform the job duties as designated by area management.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Ability to work 40 – 60 hours per week, including weekends and holiday work.

Travel: Up to 25% domestic and international travel to suppliers and customers may be required as needed.

Work Environment: Working in an office environment with exposure to manufacturing areas.
