Job Description

We are looking for a QA Engineer based in Latin America to work on a long-term project for one of our clients, a nonprofit organization based in New York.

Our client is a nonprofit organization that offers free, 24/7, confidential mental health support via text message, in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Support product development and software releases by executing tests, reporting defects, and advocating for product quality, escalating release risks when necessary.
  • Contribute to quality best practices, standards, and guidelines across engineering teams, partnering with teams to adopt and continuously improve them.
  • Build and maintain regression test suites to ensure new functionality does not introduce defects, breaking changes, or performance degradation.
  • Contribute to feature design and story refinement by clarifying acceptance criteria and identifying test requirements early, helping prevent defects before implementation.
  • Participate in daily standups and sprint ceremonies to align on testing timelines, code-complete dates, and expected behavior.
  • Prioritize, expand, and maintain the automated test framework to support CI/CD and enable efficient, reliable release cycles.
  • Identify opportunities to improve QA efficiency and scalability, including recommending tools, refining processes, and contributing to improvements in QA workflows and team practices.
  • Strengthen post-release triage and remediation processes by validating issue reproducibility, confirming isolation, and assessing user impact

Requirements

  • Advanced Level of English.
  • 4+ years of experience in software QA or test automation roles.
  • Hands-on experience using Java, JavaScript or TypeScript for API test automation.
  • Strong experience with test automation using JUnit or Playwright.
  • Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks and test tooling.
  • Experience contributing to the development and improvement of QA programs and processes.
  • QA experience testing web applications, platform services, and third-party integrations.
  • Ability to design and execute end-to-end test cases validating data flow and message integrity across decoupled services.
  • Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS, or similar).
  • Knowledge of performance and stress testing methodologies and tools.
  • Comfortable working with Docker, test data management solutions, and observability tools such as Datadog.
  • Experience with accessibility testing and standards compliance (WCAG, ADA, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a remote-first environment, collaborating with teams across multiple time zones and cultures.

Bonus Points

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related fields.
  • Experience testing products utilizing AI and LLMs.
  • Experience with security testing Web applications.
