Status: Full-time
Location: Brampton
Reporting to: Senior Manager, Quality Assurance
The pay range for the role is $62,600 to $104,300 plus bonus, comprehensive benefits, retirement savings plan, paid vacation, and other perks and opportunities.

Purpose: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Quality Assurance, this position will provide Quality support to the Supply Chain, Operations, Quality Assurance and Quality Control Departments in all matters relating to Foods Safety and Quality Systems. The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the site Food Safety and Quality Systems.

Key Accountabilities:
• Site SQF Practitioner
◦ Responsible for implementing, maintaining and improving the food safety processes and procedures in accordance to SQF Food Safety Management System including HACCP, Good Warehousing Practices compliance and other quality related programs and policies
◦ Ensure all SQF and Quality records are maintained as required.
◦ Train and help direct training for all warehouse employees in Quality procedures
◦ Completes weekly Quality Compliance audits and communicates results to site management for follow-up and corrective action as applicable.
◦ Coordinate and communicate findings of internal and external audits to management and ensure items of non-conformance are addressed and corrected as per schedule.
◦ Offer technical assistance to Warehouse Management in developing standard operating procedures, forms and matrices as required by the Quality System and Company policy.
◦ Verify and Validate SQF, HACCP and other Quality programs and procedures
◦ Ensure completion of annual review of the Warehouse Food Safety Management System
◦ Support continuous improvement of the SQF Food Safety Management Systems and Company Quality Policies and Initiatives
◦ Compile necessary metrics required for monthly Management review meetings, schedule and present KPI’s at monthly meetings.
• Key on-site contact for all quality related issues. Evaluate food safety or product quality concerns and provide feedback to Quality and Site Management.
• Liase with Manufacturing plants and Corporate QA to ensure timely execution of any requested quality sampling, inspections and exceptional product controls
• On-site contact for any regulatory, customer or third party audits.
• Lead investigation and closure of Warehouse related customer complaints
• Site Food Security Co-ordinator
• Reports to the Senior Manager, Quality Assurance any issues or barriers encountered in the accomplishments of duties above
• Effects changes in the structure of the Food safety and Quality Systems at the Warehouse when Corporate Policies change or external / internal demand requires it (e.g. regulation changes, customer expectations change)
• Other duties as assigned by Senior Manager, Quality Assurance

Qualifications & Competencies:
• Bachelor in Food Science, or any related discipline such as Microbiology, Chemistry, and Biotechnology.
• Formal HACCP and SQF training from a recognized training facility.
• Understanding of the SQF Code and the requirements for implementing and maintaining the system.
• Exceptional communication skills (listening, verbal, written) - Effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
• Analytical – Ability to identify, scrutinize, improve, and streamline complex work processes
• Computer / Technical Literacy – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook e-mail including task and calendar functions.
• Flexible, adaptable, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to work on a team.
• Planning, organizing, decision making and problem-solving skills, with an ability to find solutions using creativity, reason, and past experience along with the available resources, and generate alternatives.
• Must possess a valid Ontario G driver’s licence.
