About the role:

An experienced Quality Assurance practitioner and people leader responsible for the Quality Engineering capability within a tribe. The QA Chapter Lead ensures consistent quality standards, supports the professional growth of QA engineers, and promotes effective, modern QA practices across squads while remaining close to day-to-day delivery realities. At the same time, the role remains actively engaged as a QA Engineer within one of the delivery teams, staying close to day‑to‑day delivery and product realities.

Which tasks can you expect?

  • Leads the Quality Engineering capability within the tribe, ensuring consistent, high‑quality testing and quality practices across squads

  • Acts as an active QA practitioner and role model, staying close to delivery and squad realities

  • Defines, maintains, and evolves QA standards, quality expectations, and ways of working across the chapter

  • Ensures alignment between tribe‑level QA practices and Engineering CoE standards, acting as a two‑way interface

  • Translates organisational QA standards into practical, actionable approaches for squads

  • Provides feedback from delivery teams to the Engineering CoE to continuously improve QA standards and practices

  • Grows and develops QA Engineers through coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback

  • Promotes consistent quality practices across functional, automated, and exploratory testing

  • Monitors and improves quality outcomes using relevant quality and flow metrics

  • Encourages adoption of modern QA tools and practices, including AI‑augmented testing where valuable

  • Builds a strong QA chapter culture focused on learning, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement

  • Supports recruitment, onboarding, and retention of QA Engineers within the chapter.

What do you have to offer?

  • Strong experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering with credibility as a senior practitioner

  • Ability to define and consistently apply QA standards, testing strategies, and ways of working at tribe level

  • Strong understanding of Agile product development and CI/CD‑based delivery environments

  • Experience aligning QA practices with Engineering and Product priorities

  • Solid hands‑on knowledge of modern testing approaches, including automation‑first and risk‑based testing

  • Practical experience with Playwright‑based test automation and its sustainable use in teams

  • Experience working with Azure DevOps for test management, pipelines, and quality reporting

  • Working knowledge of quality and delivery metrics to support continuous improvement discussions

  • Awareness of non‑functional quality aspects such as performance, security, and reliability

  • Experience translating organisational or CoE standards into practical squad‑level practices

  • Coaching and mentoring skills, supporting growth of QA Engineers

  • Ability to balance hands‑on involvement with chapter‑level leadership responsibilities

  • Clear communication skills and confidence working with engineers and delivery leaders

  • Continuous improvement mindset and openness to modern QA practices, including AI‑supported testing

  • Comfortable operating with shared ownership of priorities and limited strategic scope

  • Ability to speak Romanian for day‑to‑day collaboration with local teams, and English for communication in an international environment
