Job Description

  • Analyze business and functional requirements and prepare comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Validate PowerFactory models, simulations, and calculations.
  • Test power system studies including:
    • Load Flow Analysis
    • Short Circuit Analysis
    • Protection Coordination
    • Harmonic Analysis
    • Contingency Analysis
    • Dynamic Stability Studies
  • Verify data migration and system integrations between PowerFactory and external applications.
  • Identify, log, track, and report defects using defect management tools.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, and Subject Matter Experts to resolve issues.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and quality reviews.
  • Prepare test summary reports and provide quality metrics.

Required Skills

QA Skills

  • Strong experience in Manual and Functional Testing.
  • Experience in Test Planning, Test Case Design, and Defect Management.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • JIRA
    • Azure DevOps
    • HP ALM / Quality Center
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with API Testing and Integration Testing.

PowerFactory Skills

  • Hands-on experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory
  • Understanding of electrical power systems and network modelling.
  • Experience validating:
    • Transmission Networks
    • Distribution Networks
    • Renewable Energy Systems
    • Grid Interconnection Studies
  • Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and utility standards.
  • Familiarity with SCADA, EMS, GIS, and utility applications.

Domain Knowledge

  • Power Utilities
  • Energy & Utilities Sector

  • Renewable Energy Integration
  • Electrical Network Operations

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • ISTQB Certification preferred.
  • DIgSILENT PowerFactory Certification preferred.
  • Experience working with Utility, Transmission, or Distribution companies.
  • Exposure to Python scripting or automation testing is an advantage.
