About the role:

The role is based in the Pune R&D Centre, at SAS R&D Pune facility. For this role, you will join the SAS9 team. We are looking for a Java developer to develop and maintain the SAS9 middle tier platform and services. You will help with plan and design work and take responsibility for large parts of the application. Furthermore, you will be joining a friendly team with a broad range of experience, to develop and maintain SAS 9.4 Solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Validation and Testing of SAS Software on windows and Unix platforms.
• Installation/configuration of testing environment and support SAS9 infrastructure and continuous deployment infrastructure.
• Demonstrate aptitude for problem solving and debugging of complex software systems.
• Automate the deployment process as applicable using internal tools, Jenkins, Python, Shell scripts etc.
• Install and administer Postgres, Oracle, MySQL, SAS or related DBMS.
• Administration of Linux, Windows and SAS software
• Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks, tools, and scripts that address specific needs.
• Design and implement test plans (cases, scenarios, usage).
• Create test strategies, test scenarios, and test ideas with clear intent.
• Identify risks, issues, potential defects, or defects in any phase of the project life cycle, managing them through closure.

Requirement

• 2-5 years experience.
• Experience administrating Windows and Unix operating systems.
• Knowledge of Security concepts and tool such as Snyk, Blackduck etc.
• Good debugging skills, logical problem-solving capability, quick and self-learner to adopt and use new technologies.
• Knowledge of programming/Scripting language such as Java/Shell Script, Python etc. for automating deployment process as applicable.
• Install and administer any of Postgres, Oracle, MySQL, SAS or related DBMS.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Security applications like IBM Virtual Identity Access (IVIA)/WebSeal, SiteMinder and Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA).
• Independently support / install / configure test environments for multiple projects.
• Basic understanding of Cloud computing concepts and hypervisors.
• Aptitude to work with large Legacy products.
• Use of AI Dev tool (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude code etc)
• Validation and testing of multiple SAS9 products.
• Experience administrating Windows and Unix operating systems.
• Knowledge of programming/Scripting language such as Java, Shell Script, Python etc. for automating deployment process as applicable.
• Install and administer any of Postgres, Oracle, MySQL, SAS or related DBMS.
• Demonstrate aptitude for problem solving and debugging of complex software systems.
• Familiarity with security principles such as FIPS, TLS, Certificate and Private Key infrastructure.
• Design and implement test plans (cases, scenarios, usage).
