Role Details

📍 Job location: Zaandam, Netherlands (Hybrid model, 2 days on-site per week)

🕒 Contract type: Contractor B2B

🗓 Target start date: ASAP

⏰ Working hours: Full-time

💵 Compensation: Up to 360 EUR / day

📋 What You'll Architect

As a Python Developer, you'll help build and maintain backend components that are reliable, scalable and ready for real-world use.

You'll work across the development lifecycle, from implementing backend logic and APIs to testing, debugging and improving application performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Build and maintain backend components and application logic using Python.
• Design, develop and maintain REST APIs.
• Integrate applications with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure reliable, maintainable code.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve application issues.
• Contribute to improving application performance, scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with front-end developers and other technical teams to integrate backend services.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and reviews.
• Contribute to technical discussions and help identify practical solutions to engineering challenges.

🛠️ What You Bring

Qualifications & Experience

Must have:

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python.
• Experience developing backend applications and REST APIs.
• Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, Agile environment.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Technical & Professional Skills

You should be comfortable working with:

• Python
• At least one Python backend framework such as Django, FastAPI or Flask
• REST APIs
• SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Docker
• Basic knowledge of at least one cloud environment: AWS, Azure or GCP
• Unit and integration testing
• Agile/Scrum ways of working

Nice to Have

• Experience working across different backend technologies or architectures.
• Experience with more advanced cloud-based development environments.
• Experience contributing to performance and scalability improvements.
