Job Description

Chelton Loft is a psychosocial clubhouse following the Clubhouse International Standards, providing an inclusive, supportive environment for individuals with mental illness.

What You’ll Do

As a Clubhouse Engagement Specialist with Chelton Loft, you’ll be part of a small, dedicated team working with people living with mental illness. You’ll develop and coordinate opportunities for friendship, employment, housing, education, and access to medical and psychiatric services in a single, caring, and safe clubhouse environment. Clubhouse members and staff equally participate in identifying and empowering members' strengths, skills, and interests. The staff offers a positive, supportive relationship that helps build members' self-esteem and encourages them to work toward identified goals, wellness, and recovery.


Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Helping plan and carry out daily activities and projects with members
  • Encouraging members to develop leadership and work-readiness skills
  • Supporting members with goal setting and skill-building
  • Participating in the Clubhouse's Transitional Employment (TE) Program, including helping members find jobs, training them, and stepping in to cover job shifts when needed
  • Attending community events and meetings to promote Chelton Loft and learning from other Clubhouses
  • Leading or supporting projects and strategic planning efforts with staff and members
  • Covering social and recreational activities on evenings, weekends, and holidays (on a rotating basis)
  • Modeling and supporting healthy communication between members and service providers
  • H elping onboard and train new members, staff, interns, and volunteers

You Would Be A Great Fit If You:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, rehabilitation, or a related field, OR equivalent experience.
  • Bring at least 3 years of experience in human services
  • Have worked in a Psychosocial Clubhouse or mental health support program (preferred)
  • Understand the needs of individuals impacted by the criminal legal system (a plus)
  • Are flexible, empathetic, and committed to rehabilitation and recovery
  • Food Safety Certification (a plus)
  • Bilingual Spanish (fluent speaker preferred)
  • Have strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Are computer proficient, especially with Microsoft Office and databases
  • Can work with diverse populations and remain calm in emotional situations

Compensation

  • $23.00 to $25.00 per hour
