Job Description

1. Vehicle sign-off

2. Bill of Materials maintenance

3. Process sign-off

4. Installation manuals maintenance

5. Review, analyze, reject or approve process or product deviations (initiated by Ford Motor Company or

by the suppliers)

6. Analyze customer data to prioritize existing field and in-plant concerns

7. Identify, define and analyze design-related quality issues in the field and at the Assembly Plant

8. Determine and implement cost and time effective containment plans for each of the team-prioritized

concerns, which are identified as being related to customer quality

9. Determine root cause of issues applying the appropriate Engineering Quality tools

10. Develop cost effective design solutions that address quality issues

11. Validate product changes using the appropriate Engineering Quality tools

12. Release product changes and complete all necessary documentation

13. Implementation of product Engineering changes or Permanent Corrective Actions

14. Keep Forward Model Teams informed about all released Engineering changes for current models

15. Prepare status reports on resolution and timing of changes to update management and to support

management reviews

16. Arrange/participate in meetings for total cost reduction, Ford Consumer Product Audit concern

resolution, launch issues, added starters and service related issues as required

17. Develop and communicate "lessons learned" to up streams activities

18. Identify, develop and prove-out cost reduction actions

19. Buy-off Product Engineering changes, taken clear understanding is gained

(reasons for the change and its implications)

20. Analyze and communicate manufacturing constraints for each Engineering change

(with Plant Manufacturing Engineer's assistance)

21. Follow-up Plant Manufacturing Engineering to update process sheets on Engineering changes

22. Support functional tests/trials necessary to prove-out Product Engineering changes authorized by the

team

23. Implementation and sign-off of product Engineering change

24. Lead the PVT Engineering issues on current model and on minor Launches

25. Support the team through the Variability Reduction Process (Variability Reduction Team)

26. Provide support to major launch teams that are on-site

27. The PVT will be responsible for programmed Added Starters unless otherwise negotiated

28. The PVT will be responsible for post-Job#1 running changes

29. Active participation in Quick Service Fixes as required by Ford Customer Service Division

30. Determine the impact of an Engineering change in the field, and release parts/components

accordingly.

  1. Major launch - Support and cleanup @OKTB+30 days (FAP02-053 7.3.4 and 7.3.5)
  2. Minor launch – May lead some selected small-scale programs/added starters upon agreement with OPD/PVT Leadership (None)
  3. AIMS/DEMS – lead for minor launches, support for major launches and take lead after OKTB (FAP02-053 7.3.4 and 7.3.5)
  4. TVM support (ECN, trials, issue clean up, PPAP completion) PPAP completion is Site STA. TVM D&R owns the design and must sign off on PPAP with STA. (FAP03-005 7.1)
  5. Plant issues – support/provide IQ direction (what/where to measure, etc.), process walk support and advise QOSC/QPIP, ICA implementation until PCA available. PCA lead will be D&R for Design, STA for Supplier Quality and VRT for plant-related issues (FAP02-053 7.1.7.2)
  6. Lead GSAR Warranty binning and analysis (contact dealers, interface w FCSD), part return reviews (FAP02-053 7.1.7.2)
  7. Assist QNPS/GQRS and JDP binning when requested. Design Assurance VFG Leaders led binning since 20MY (FAP02-053 7.1.7.2)
  8. Lead BSAQ Glidepaths for QNPS- Design Assurance VFG Leaders communication and coordination with Plant/Others, author projects, manage implementation, calculate impact, manage TGW glide path forecast. (FAP02-053 7.1.5, FAP03-005 and FAP07-004)
  9. Supplier support - timing plans, PPAP review, robustness actions both for Ford and to help reduce QRs. Lead is STA Resident or STA Central Quality (None)
  10. Supplier QOS support – includes regular supplier site visits for key / problem suppliers. Lead is STA Central Quality along with Site STA. (None)
  11. Stop Ship support and prevention - identify issues, coordinate subject matter experts, advise severity and next steps/containment, interface w CCRG. Preventative Action lead is PD Quality with PD Core Engineering (FAP03-134)
  12. BSAQ lead and Problem Resolution for GSAR Warranty (except Supplier Quality)- communication and coordination with VFG/Plant/Others, author projects, manage implementation, calculate impact, manage warranty glide path forecast (FAP02-053 7.1.5, FAP03-005 and FAP07-004)
  13. STA support – help review 8Ds on select high impact issues, help author BSAQ projects and close them out, advise and monitor supplier robustness changes. Lead is STA Central Quality (FAP02-053 7.1.7.2)
  14. Support cascaded Functional Warranty quality objectives for the base organization (R/1000 and CPU)- respond to plant/supplier issues before they leave assembly plants, evaluate chronic and new warranty issues to push for cut off and resolution ASAP (FAP02-053 7.1.7.2)
  15. Support VFG Quality robustness actions for High-time-in-service New PVT requirement that must be understood. High mileage issues are almost exclusively design related. Lead is Design Assurance (None)
  16. Support Plant FTT improvements. Lead is Production/IE and VOME (None)
  17. Chair and support Variability Reduction Team (VRT) meetings at the Plant. (FAP02-053 7.1.7.2)
  18. Lead VRT review and sign-off on supplier requests for component changes (SREA), run trials as required. (FAP03-109)
  19. Support 6 Sigma project development and coordinate Plant input on all issues requiring deep dive analysis for resolution (FAP02-053 7.1.7.2)
  20. Support in weekly Vehicle Function Group (VFG) subsystem Quality Meetings to maintain clear line of communication to the Functional Managers on all vehicle quality issues and request help as needed. (FAP02-053 7.1.9.2)
  21. Support in weekly Functional Quality Reviews (FQR) with the Functional Chief Engineer to maintain clear line of communication to the Functional Chief Engineer on all high impact vehicle quality issues and request help as needed. (FAP02-053 7.1.9.2)
  22. Support daily plant white board meetings to update Plant Leadership on all Functional quality initiatives (FAP02-053 7.1.7.2)
  23. Support Vehicle Quality Reviews (VQR) and Program Quality Reviews (PQR) when Functional topics (including 6 Sigma Projects) are on the agenda. (FAP02-053 7.1.7.2)

1.- Bachelor in engineering.

2.- Experience in PD/Quality/Program/Manufacturing.

3.- Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt trained desirable.

4.- Excellent teamwork, leadership, and presentation skills.

5.- Proficient in English.

6.- Programming skills desirable.
