Job Title: Retail Receiving Supervisor

Job Department: Purchasing

Job Pay Rate: $24.00 / hour

Job Summary

As a “Purchasing” Retail Receiving Supervisor, you will oversee the accurate receiving, verification, tracking, and distribution of merchandise across Retail operations. You will work closely with the Retail team to evaluate purchase orders and with Accounts Payable (AP) to reconcile invoices and resolve discrepancies. Responsibilities include verifying incoming merchandise against purchase orders and packing slips, documenting discrepancies in quantity, specifications, condition, and pricing, maintaining accurate receiving records, and coordinating the timely delivery of merchandise to the appropriate retail shops. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Supervise, train, and provide daily directions to the Retail Receiving team, ensuring merchandise is processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining productivity and established operational standards.
  • Partner with the Retail team to receive advance notification of purchase orders and incoming shipments, and track orders from placement through receipt and final delivery.
  • Receive and coordinate all incoming retail merchandise shipments, ensuring items are properly accounted for upon arrival.
  • Communicate expected timelines for merchandise processing, including receiving, verification, discrepancy resolution, ticketing, and delivery to retail shops.
  • Verify all incoming retail merchandise against system-generated receiving documents, purchase orders, and packing slips, identifying and documenting discrepancies involving quantity, quality, condition, specifications, and other order details.
  • Communicate merchandise and receiving discrepancies promptly to Retail Buyers and assist with appropriate follow-up and resolution.
  • Complete and process all receiving documentation accurately and in a timely manner to support the prompt reconciliation and payment of vendor invoices.
  • Oversee the process of receiving documents and ensure all merchandise is properly ticketed, labeled, and prepared for distribution.
  • Coordinate and direct the timely delivery of ticketed merchandise to the appropriate retail shops and departments.
  • Utilize the TrackIT system to maintain accurate merchandise delivery logs and obtain required proof-of-delivery signatures.
  • Maintain and regularly communicate a detailed list of merchandise received without corresponding purchase orders (POs) to Retail Buyers for review and resolution.
  • Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the retail receiving area, ensuring workspaces and restrooms remain clean, orderly, sanitary, and free of safety hazards.
  • Promote proper merchandise handling, organization, and receiving procedures to help protect inventory, minimize discrepancies, and maintain accurate records.
  • Support the Retail team, Accounts Payable, and other departments with receiving-related questions, documentation, invoice discrepancies, and merchandise tracking as needed.
  • Monitor team performance and workload, assign daily receiving priorities, and ensure appropriate staffing and workflow based on incoming shipment volume.
  • Coach team members on proper receiving, ticketing, documentation, merchandise handling, and delivery procedures, addressing performance or procedural concerns as needed.
  • Ensure receiving activities are completed in accordance with established inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and Broadmoor procedures.
  • Ensure complete compliance with The Broadmoor guidelines, operational procedures, safety policies, and institutional standards for excellence (Forbes Travel Guide and AAA Five-Diamond).
  • Maintain a willingness to learn about The Broadmoor’s history, estate grounds, wilderness properties, culinary offerings, and retail outlets.
  • Execute additional duties and responsibilities as required.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
  • Previous experience in purchasing, receiving, or inventory control is highly preferred; however, an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional background will be considered.
  • A valid driver’s license is required, as this role may involve transporting equipment across the Resort. Please note that all employees operating Broadmoor vehicles must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation, email communication, and hospitality procurement software (TrackIt).
  • High attention to detail, discrete communication for luxury environments.
  • Ability to perform basic business mathematics, including calculating discounts, commissions, proportions, percentages, quantities, costs, and pricing. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to inventory reconciliation, merchandise receiving, invoice verification, and discrepancy resolution.
  • A highly motivated team player who connects easily with colleagues and drives results through positive energy and seamless collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills, negotiation, conflict resolution and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 100 lbs. with assistance and proper safety practices.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required by the calendar of events.
