SUMMARY
The Purchasing / Receiving Specialist (“Especialista en Mercancías”) supports the management of inventory levels and vendor communications while coordinating the daily procurement, receiving, storage, and issuance of all hotel food and beverage products and operating supplies. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to proactively monitor inventory to prevent shortages that may impact operations and guest service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Receive, unload, and inspect vendor deliveries, verifying accuracy against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Ensure all incoming goods meet quality standards and report discrepancies or damages promptly.
- Accurately enter received products into inventory systems and maintain organized documentation.
- Source and purchase primarily food & beverage products in alignment with operational needs and budget guidelines.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels based on outlet consumption and business demands; prevent shortages that impact guest service.
- Ensure proper storage, sanitation, organization, and strict FIFO rotation of all products, including perishable items.
- Conduct physical inventories and assist with month-end inventory reconciliation.
- Prepare and reconcile daily receiving reports and complete required daily close-out procedures.
- Process vendor returns, emergency deliveries, and required shipping/receiving paperwork.
- Coordinate issuance and distribution of operating supplies and deliver products throughout the property as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of all storage areas, equipment, and loading dock spaces.
- Assist the Purchasing Manager and collaborate with warehouse clerks and hotel leadership to support overall operational efficiency.
- Follow all departmental and hotel Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while working independently with minimal supervision.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2-4 years of relevant experience and/or training.
- A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
- Previous similar position in a warehouse, hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
- Warehouse experience preferred.
- Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
- Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company’s expense.
- Intermediate working knowledge in the MS Office suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong working knowledge of computer, scanner, facsimile machine, copier and any other standard office equipment
- Must have an unexpired and valid driver's license with no recent violations.
- For insurance purposes, candidates must be over 21 years of age.
- Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
- Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
- The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
