Fleet Parts Sourcing Specialist
Location: 505 Miller Avenue, Markham, Ontario
Position Type: Permanent Full-Time
Reporting To: Corporate Procurement Manager
Start Date: Immediately
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Compensation: $75,000-90,000 per annum

The Fleet Parts Sourcing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for parts, components, and third-party services supporting heavy refuse trucks, truck bodies, yellow iron and waste processing facilities across a multi-region network (Ontario & Atlantic Canada, 1700+ units).This role focuses on strategic procurement and is accountable for delivering best value through supplier strategy, lifecycle cost optimization, and innovative sourcing approaches. Working in close partnership with Fleet Maintenance team, Equipment leadership, the Manager, Sourcing and Contract, and Inventory Compliance, the role ensures consistent supplier performance, program adoption, and alignment between national sourcing strategies and local operational needs.

Responsibilities:
As a Fleet Parts Sourcing Specialist, your duties will include but are not limited to:
• Manage sourcing and category ownership for OEM and aftermarket parts, hydraulic components, cylinder rebuild programs, and specialized repair services.
• Lead RFQ/RFP processes and support strategic sourcing initiatives for parts, rebuild programs, and maintenance services.
• Negotiate supplier agreements, including pricing, labor rates, warranties, turnaround times, and service expectations.
• Develop standardized rebuild and lifecycle management programs, including rebuild-versus-replace strategies and re-lifing initiatives.
• Manage relationships and performance of OEMs, distributors, rebuild vendors, and service providers.
• Drive cost optimization and total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements through sourcing, standardization, and supplier management.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Maintenance, Equipment, Inventory Compliance, and Operations teams to support procurement programs and operational needs.
• Support parts distribution strategies and identify opportunities to improve service levels and supplier leverage.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and industry benchmarks to support procurement decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Track supplier performance, warranty recovery, procurement savings, and program effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and system updates within procurement and accounting systems.

Competencies & Qualifications:
• 8–12+ years of experience in procurement or sourcing within MRO, heavy equipment, fleet, or industrial environments.
• Experience with hydraulic components and/or OEM chassis or heavy equipment parts.
• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Class G Driver’s License with ability to travel locally as required.
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment parts, hydraulic systems, mechanical components, and related industrial equipment.
• Experience with procurement/ERP and accounting systems such as Dossier, Sage, and YOOZ
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and total cost of ownership (TCO) principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong vendor negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities across cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex procurement challenges.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in contracts, pricing, and technical specifications.
• Collaborative and adaptable team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Customer-focused approach with ability to support internal stakeholders effectively.
