(C) Purchasing Planner

  • 3 month contingent, with potential for full time.

  • Support an important defence contract

About the Role

In this role, you’ll support the Purchasing Team by coordinating the subcontractor allocation process and helping shape short‑ to medium‑term procurement decisions. You’ll play a key part in RFQ and tendering activities, maintain accurate pricing and procurement data, and ensure materials and services are planned effectively against program demand. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you’ll help drive consistency, value for money, and adherence to Babcock’s procurement processes across all programs.

About You

You’re someone who thrives in a structured, fast‑paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively with multiple teams. You bring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and confidence in managing data, RFQs, and supplier interactions. You’re proactive, comfortable engaging with stakeholders, and committed to continuous improvement. Most importantly, you take pride in supporting safe, efficient, and value‑driven procurement outcomes.

To be successful you will bring:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel and a desire to enhance skills on the job;
  • Intermediate IFS or another ERP system;
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Purchasing, Contract or Project Administration roles;
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
