Your Role

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for ordering inventory and managing suppliers to ensure on time delivery is achieved at the best value and at the required quality levels. The role will support all products lines and objectives are to meet requirement dates and to meet PDD or customer needs.

In addition to Stakeholder Management, Goods Inwards/Outwards Management your Key Responsibilities will include:

Safety:

  • Environment Health & Safety (EH&S) - Maintain zero accidents and incidents while ensuring compliance to all EH&S regulations
  • Report all incidences promptly and in accordance with the safety management system.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Review and comply with all DWI instructions relating to relative area.
  • Oversee and ensure all documentation (electronic or hard copy) is signed off/stamped as tasks are completed progressively.
  • Source and procure aircraft parts, components and materials from approved suppliers, ensuring compliance with aviation regulatory requirements (CASA, FAA, EASA).
  • Lead resolution of supplier disputes including invoice discrepancies, delivery shortfalls, quality escapes and pricing disagreements, escalating where required.

Purchasing:

  • Manage the end-to-end purchase order process including raising, tracking, expediting and closing purchase orders within our ERP system.
  • Actively expedite open purchase orders to achieve on-time delivery commitments aligned to customer turnaround time (TAT) expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchase order records including pricing, delivery dates and supplier communications within the ERP system.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with StandardAero policies, OEM requirements and applicable aviation regulatory standards.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with domestic and international suppliers, including manufacturers, distributors and approved vendors.
  • Liaise with internal customers including planning, engineering, stores and customer support to ensure parts requirements are clearly communicated and met.
  • Support receiving and goods inwards processes, ensuring parts are correctly receipted into inventory with appropriate documentation and airworthiness release.

Other duties as required.

  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all departments at all levels and attend meetings as required
  • Actively participating and assisting in coordinating Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Other duties as directed and required to ensure the department remains efficient and on schedule.

Your experience and qualifications include:

Essential:

  • 2–4 years of experience in a procurement, purchasing or supply chain role, ideally within aviation, aerospace, Defence or a similarly regulated MRO environment.
  • Minimum grade 12 with related post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Good knowledge of the following software: Excel, Power Point, Word, E-mail, Access.
  • Strong accounting and purchasing experience
  • A strong technical learning ability
  • Demonstrated ability to manage purchase orders and supplier relationships with a high degree of accuracy and follow-through.
  • Experience working within an ERP system (experience with SAP or equivalent enterprise procurement platforms highly regarded).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements.

Desirable:

  • Experience in aviation parts procurement or familiarity with airworthiness documentation (Form 8130-3, EASA Form 1, CASA release documentation).

  • Exposure to international freight and import/export processes.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics or a related discipline.
