Procurement Category Specialist

Jewish Care Victoria is seeking proactive and skilled Purchasing Officer to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation. In this fixed term 6-month position, you will actively contribute to achieving optimal value through effective purchasing practices, driving continuous improvement, and supporting process enhancements.

What You Will Do

You will work closely with Facilities and the broader Procurement team to ensure all procurement activities and contracts deliver best value for money while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, including the Aged Care Act and associated regulations.

You will be responsible for:

  • Manage the purchasing inbox by triaging communications and escalating where required
  • Manage order flow and ensure on time delivery
  • Communicating with suppliers regularly with all expediting, invoicing and queries
  • Support and resolve pricing queries where required
  • Support and resolve internal stakeholder queries where required
  • Regularly communication with Facilities of any changes or updates to products and contracts
  • Follow up with Vendors and Suppliers addressing any product or delivery issues raised by Facilities
  • Become a SME on the ERP system from a purchasing perspective

About You

  • 2+ years’ experience within a purchasing or supply function (Hospital/Health Care desirable)
  • Proficient in Procure to Pay systems or similar procurement platforms.
  • Customer service oriented with excellent organisational skills
  • Problem solver by nature with friendly attitude
  • Resilient personality and energetic attitude
  • Must have strong experience in Microsoft products and exposure to ERP systems

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
