Build the supplier partnerships and sourcing strategies that keep POLYWOOD manufacturing moving forward.

About POLYWOOD
POLYWOOD is changing what it means to own outdoor furniture. For 35 years, we've built iconic outdoor furniture from recycled HDPE lumber, designed to outlast weather, kids, and trends. We're a vertically integrated American manufacturer with a brand that's growing into something bigger: the outdoor home. As we scale into the next era of brand-led growth, we're building teams that strengthen the supplier partnerships, materials, and purchasing discipline behind our continued success

About the Role
POLYWOOD is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead strategic sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing operations for our growing manufacturing organization. This role will guide a team of purchasing professionals while building sourcing strategies that support quality, service, inventory, cost, and long-term growth. The ideal candidate combines big-picture strategy with hands-on execution. You’ll negotiate supplier agreements, improve cost performance, strengthen purchasing processes, and remain closely connected to production needs and day-to-day operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of purchasing professionals, establishing clear expectations and accountability.
  • Develop sourcing strategies for raw materials, components, fasteners, and other production-critical categories.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, commercial terms, and supplier agreements.
  • Evaluate total cost of ownership, including quality, lead time, inventory, freight, supplier risk, and production continuity.
  • Identify and deliver cost reductions without compromising quality, service, or operational performance.
  • Improve supplier performance, accountability, and risk management.
  • Support new product introductions and changing manufacturing priorities.
  • Strengthen purchasing processes, systems, reporting, and team execution.
  • Balance long-term sourcing strategy with the daily material needs of a manufacturing operation.

What You Bring

  • 8–12+ years of experience in purchasing, strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain.
  • 5+ years of experience leading purchasing, sourcing, procurement, or supply chain teams.
  • Purchasing or sourcing experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing raw materials.
  • Experience managing domestic and international supplier relationships.
  • Strong contract negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
  • Experience working with ERP or MRP systems.
  • A practical, business-minded leadership style with the ability to move between strategy and execution.
  • The ability to set clear expectations, coach others, and build accountability through collaboration.
  • Bonus: Experience sourcing from Asia.
  • Bonus: Experience with fasteners, resins, polymers, chemicals, metals, engineered materials, or similar manufacturing inputs.

Why This Role Matters
This is a leadership role with meaningful business impact. You’ll help shape supplier strategy, support manufacturing performance, develop people, deliver measurable savings, and strengthen the purchasing foundation behind a growing POLYWOOD brand.

If this sounds like the kind of impact you want to make, we invite you to apply.

POLYWOOD®

About POLYWOOD®

Our story began in the late 1980s when the outcome of government recycling programs created steadily growing mountains of recycled plastics. We saw opportunity in this landscape of overabundance, and through creative ingenuity, POLYWOOD® was born. Our low-maintenance, recyclable lumber was welcomed as a premier wood alternative in outdoor furniture with its all-weather endurance, improved aesthetics and exceptional durability.

One of the first products developed was the Classic Adirondack, which remains a favorite among our customers today. Since then, we have expanded our product lines to include additional adirondack styles as well as dining, lounges, deep seating, benches and swings.

Our goal is to deliver a quality product our customers want in a timely fashion. To achieve this vision, we developed state-of-the-art technology and lean manufacturing processes that have minimized our waste stream and ensured our products are built quickly and accurately. Our products are assembled, packaged and delivered all within days of receiving an order, satisfying the customer while saving warehouse space.

Our continual growth and success is fueled by a highly collaborative culture. We support a cross-departmental atmosphere where employees are encouraged to utilize all of their skills to their full potential. Together, we keep a constant focus on the future and promise to create and deliver thoughtfully designed products made in the USA.
