Meet the team:

Our Supply Chain team plays a critical role in supporting Dexcom’s manufacturing operations in Athenry. The Purchasing team works closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Global Procurement to ensure a reliable supply of materials that enables uninterrupted production and supports our continued growth. We are a collaborative, fast-paced team focused on supplier performance, operational excellence and delivering results for our customers.

As Purchasing Manager, you will provide leadership and strategic direction for purchasing activities supporting Dexcom's first European manufacturing facility in Athenry. You will lead a team responsible for the procurement of direct and indirect materials, supplier performance management, inventory optimisation, risk mitigation, and procurement process excellence while partnering closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Global Procurement teams.

Where you come in:

  • You will lead and develop the Athenry Purchasing team to achieve operational, service, cost and inventory objectives.

  • You will establish and execute purchasing strategies that align with site, regional and global supply chain objectives.

  • You will drive material availability to support manufacturing plans while maintaining inventory targets.

  • You will lead purchasing execution for direct and indirect inventory supporting manufacturing operations.

  • You will oversee purchase order management, supplier scheduling agreements, forecast communication, and order fulfilment performance.

  • You will partner with Master Planning, Production Planning and Integrated Business Planning teams to align procurement strategies with demand and supply plans.

  • You will develop supplier performance management processes using KPIs

  • You will lead supplier risk assessment, business continuity planning and proactive mitigation activities.

  • You will support new product introductions, supplier transfers, product lifecycle changes and manufacturing scale-up initiatives.

  • You will collaborate with Quality, Engineering and Supplier Quality teams regarding supplier qualification and performance improvement activities.

  • You will drive inventory optimisation initiatives while maintaining target service levels.

  • You will lead escalation management for material shortages, supply disruptions and capacity constraints.

  • You will ensure compliance with Dexcom procurement policies, SOX controls, quality requirements and regulatory expectations.

  • You will support implementation and continuous improvement of ERP systems and planning processes including Oracle EBS and Oracle Fusion and associated procurement tools.

  • You will partner with Global Procurement on sourcing strategies, contract management, supplier consolidation and cost reduction initiatives.

  • You will lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, supplier performance and operational excellence.

  • You've previous experience managing direct material procurement within a manufacturing environment.

  • You have experience working with ERP/MRP systems.

  • You have a strong understanding of inventory management, purchasing processes and supplier management.

  • You have excellent stakeholder engagement skills across multiple functional areas.

  • You bring strong data analysis and decision-making capabilities.

  • You have a proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • You have strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.

  • You have the ability to identify and mitigate supply chain risks proactively.

  • You bring excellent communication, influencing and change management skills.

  • You commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Preferred but not mandatory:

  • Experience supporting manufacturing start-up or site expansion activities.

  • Experience with Oracle Fusion, Oracle EBS, SAP or equivalent ERP platforms.

  • Knowledge of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).

  • Experience managing global suppliers and international supply chains.

Experience & Education Requirements:

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business or related discipline with 8-12 years of industry experience and 2-5 years of previous people management experience.

Preferred Certificates:

  • Professional procurement certification (CIPS, CPM, CPSM or equivalent).

  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
