Job Description

Biomerics is a world-class manufacturer and innovative polymer solutions provider for the medical device and biotech industries. As a vertically integrated company, we specialize in designing, developing, and producing medical devices for diagnostic and interventional procedures. We are focused on next-generation solutions for vascular access, electrophysiology, cardiac rhythm management, neurovascular, structural heart, and cardiovascular markets.

At Biomerics, we are dedicated to our diverse employee base. We understand that a strong, skilled, and engaged workforce is the foundation of our continued success as a business. We strive to live up to Biomerics' values in all our interactions. It is an exciting time to be part of our collective team, and there is no limit to the impact that can be achieved here at Biomerics. We improve and advance the lives of our employees and the patients who depend on our products.

At Biomerics, we believe in integrity, partnership, empowerment and accountability, trust, agility, teamwork, and excellence, and we care. Our team-oriented, customer-focused corporate culture prioritizes building strategic, mutually beneficial partnerships with customers and our team members.

The Purchasing Manager leads and develops the site procurement function for Biomerics’ plastics division CDMO operation. This role owns the strategic direction, process architecture, and performance of a team of buyers while ensuring compliance, supply continuity, and cost effectiveness across direct materials and indirect/MRO spend. The Purchasing Manager is a key cross-functional leader—influencing at Plant GM and Supply Chain Director levels—and is expected to build a scalable procurement organization with a roadmap toward multi-site oversight within 1–2 years.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of buyers with clear performance expectations, accountability structures, and individual development plans.
  • Build a high-performing procurement culture grounded in Biomerics’ values; mentor buyers on best practices, supplier management, and compliance disciplines.
  • Partner with Supply Chain leadership to identify career progression paths and educational opportunities for the procurement team.

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

  • Develop category strategies for direct materials (resins, components) and indirect/MRO spend, leveraging commodity analysis and spend consolidation to drive negotiating leverage.
  • Lead MSA negotiations and collaborate with peer SCM leaders across Biomerics sites to align on enterprise agreements and combined spend leverage.
  • Monitor resin pricing trends, supplier capacity, and supply chain risk to drive proactive sourcing decisions.

Process Architecture & Compliance

  • Design and implement procurement SOPs, guardrails, and workflows that create repeatable, compliant, and scalable purchasing operations across the site.
  • Maintain ERP/MRP data integrity (NetSuite preferred) across lead times, safety stock, reorder points, and vendor master records to prevent E&O exposure.
  • Ensure full compliance with ISO 13485 and applicable FDA requirements; partner with Quality on supplier qualification, ASL maintenance, and CAPA resolution.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Influence

  • Serve as a strategic procurement partner to the Plant GM, Supply Chain Director, and senior leadership, translating supply dynamics into business risk and opportunity language.
  • Build strong partnerships with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, and R&D to align procurement with program needs, NPIs, and customer program requirements.
  • Lead supplier performance reviews and present escalation recommendations with supporting data and decision frameworks to senior leadership.

Departmental Vision & Roadmap

  • Develop and execute a clear 6–12-month procurement roadmap covering process maturity milestones, team development, system improvements, and strategic sourcing priorities.
  • Establish and report procurement KPIs including on-time delivery, cost savings, supplier performance, PO accuracy, and inventory health.
  • Build procurement infrastructure that is documented and scalable for multi-site oversight, targeting expanded scope within 1–2 years.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience, including 3+ years managing a purchasing team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier negotiation; plastics or direct materials category experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to build procurement processes, SOPs, and cross-functional workflows in a regulated industry (ISO 13485 / FDA).
  • Track record of influencing senior stakeholders (Director/GM level) across Quality, Engineering, Operations, and Planning.
  • ERP/MRP proficiency required; NetSuite experience strongly preferred. Strong Excel and data analytics skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills; experience driving enterprise-level MSA alignment across multiple sites preferred.
  • CDMO or contract manufacturing experience highly desirable. CPSM, CSCP, or CIPS certification a plus.

Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation Days, Paid Holidays, 401k, On-site Fitness Facility.
