Full-Time | 5 Days On Site

We’re partnering with a growing, technically driven manufacturing organization to find a strong Purchasing Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. This is a fully on-site role requiring someone who is deeply embedded in operations and enjoys collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • A technical manufacturing background

  • Experience managing high volumes of SKUs

If you’re analytical, resourceful, and confident in making high-impact purchasing decisions, this could be a great fit.

About the Role

As Purchasing Manager, you’ll take ownership of sourcing and procuring high-quality components and materials to support production. You’ll play a key role in supplier negotiations, inventory oversight, and building scalable purchasing processes to support ongoing growth across North America. You’ll collaborate closely with teams across production, engineering, design, and inventory to forecast demand, manage supply flow, and ensure operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and procure components, materials, and products aligned with business needs
  • Develop strong supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts
  • Manage purchase orders and provide regular updates on order status
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to support production requirements
  • Build and maintain tracking tools to improve visibility across departments (lead times, quantities, order status, etc.)
  • Support the implementation of an ERP system and help optimize purchasing workflows
  • Coordinate logistics and ensure timely delivery of goods
  • Analyze market trends to inform purchasing strategies
  • Partner with internal teams including Production, Project Management, Accounting, and Inventory
  • Conduct quality checks on incoming materials and resolve discrepancies with suppliers
  • Leverage data tools (Excel, Power BI) to drive insights and reporting

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Excellent negotiation and critical thinking abilities
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis) and experience with reporting tools like Power BI
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Experience working with inventory or supply chain systems
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing/procurement, ideally across Canada and the U.S.
  • Progressive experience in a senior purchasing or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience handling large SKU volumes is essential
  • ERP experience is an asset (NetSuite preferred)
  • Technical knowledge (electrical, electronic, or mechanical) is beneficial
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (engineering or supply chain preferred)
  • Additional certifications in supply chain or logistics are considered an asset

If you’re looking to step into a role where you can shape processes, influence strategy, and contribute to a scaling manufacturing operation, we’d be interested in connecting with you.
