Job Description

The Purchasing Manager will lead and support their team of Buyers to ensure that they meet their goals and continuously improve their performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the team of Buyers (8-10) in Mexicali
• Set performance goals for the Buyers and establish actions plans to meet them
• Manages the regional Buyer team including coaching, training, resource allocation, PTO, HR systems maintenance…)
• Serves as the 1st point of escalation for expediting critical shortages for Operations.
• Lead lean, cost savings and continuous improvement projects related to purchasing, space optimization, and inbound freight costs as required
• Recommends ideas that improve effectiveness and efficiency of team to Director, Americas Purchasing
• Reviews all purchase orders that require approval per Vertiv procedures to ensure SOX compliance
• Responsible for ensuring that procedures exist and are documented to support Buyers’ compliance with Vertiv Procurement and Operations procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or equivalent functional experience required
• Strong leadership skills and proven track record of driving continuous improvement
• APICS or ISM certification or evidence showing progress towards achieving required
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with senior-level leadership
• Excellent organizational, analytical thinking and multi-tasking skills
• Detail-oriented and ability to thrive is a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and responsiveness
• Strong understanding of cost management best practices
• Proficient using ERP systems e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
