About PolyPeptide

We are currently looking for a Purchasing Manager to lead and strengthen our local procurement activities within the Supply Chain organization.

Your Mission

As Purchasing Manager, you will drive the procurement strategy and daily operations for our Braine site. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you ensure efficient sourcing, availability of materials, and strong supplier partnerships while aligning with global procurement processes.

You will play a key leadership role in shaping local procurement processes, contributing to continuous improvements, and supporting mission‑critical activities across Source, Plan, Make & Deliver.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supplier Management
  • Define and contribute to the strategic vision of local procurement within the end‑to‑end Supply Chain.

  • Build local specifications and ensure alignment with business needs.

  • Lead and coordinate supplier negotiations, including yearly price reviews.

  • Manage supplier selection, quotations, contracts, and performance monitoring.

  • Identify risks and opportunities, propose mitigation plans (e.g., dual sourcing).

  • Participate in supplier qualification and E2E meetings.

2. Procurement Leadership
  • Lead and organize procurement activities for the Braine site.

  • Manage priorities, workload, and provide backup support to the team.

  • Drive a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and accountability.

  • Prepare regular reporting and share key indicators with management.

  • Support contract management and handle disputes/claims with suppliers.

  • Follow procurement KPIs such as OTIF, ARC, deviations, etc.

3. Master Data & Process Excellence
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of procurement master data in SAP.

  • Investigate data discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

  • Analyze data to support tactical and strategic decisions.

  • Contribute to supplier evaluation and improvement plans.

  • Support savings initiatives in partnership with Finance.

  • Implement standard contracts with key suppliers.

4. Continuous Improvement
  • Promote technological watch, Lean initiatives, and process optimization.

  • Improve inventory management (JIT, stock ownership models, etc.).

  • Contribute to transversal projects within the site and the Group.

  • Challenge procurement processes constructively and propose enhancements.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Operations, QA/QC, Engineering, PM, Finance…).

  • Participate in Group-level procurement meetings and negotiations.

  • Communicate analyses, results, and improvement recommendations clearly.

Your Profile

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain or similar.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Experience in a GMP environment is required.

  • Proven leadership experience.

  • Strong experience with ERP systems (SAP is an asset).

  • Fluent in French and English

Technical Skills
  • Strong procurement expertise and negotiation skills.

  • Solid understanding of pharma environment, EHS rules, and supply chain flows.

  • Advanced data analysis skills; strong command of Excel.

  • Experience with Lean methodologies.
