PURCHASING & LOGISTICS ASSISTANT
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Analyze past sales data, sales trends and works closely with sales team to forecast orders.
• Be able to work closely with the wine department manager to ensure container loads are correct.
• Prepare purchase orders, invoices, transfer orders, and other logistics tasks.
• Optimize inventory turns and maintain sufficient inventory to meet customer demands.
• Coordinate land and ocean freight of incoming goods. Investigate optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment,
and frequency.
• Inventory control, including creating new items and updating prices in the system.
• Maintain current tracking method of all incoming goods.
• Collate and distribute necessary paperwork for shipments in collaboration with the finance team.
• Collect sales depletion data and send to sales team. Provide sales forecasts as required.
• Ensure accurate and timely weekly, monthly and annual reports.
• Maintain regular contact with other departments to obtain information for correct purchases.
• Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns.
• Help to bridge the gap between purchasing, Sales and finance.
• Works to maintain productive business communications with vendors, shippers and external contacts.
• Ensures that all work is always of the highest standard and integrity.
• Promotes goodwill and a positive image of the Company.
• Perform special projects for manager or sales/ finance team as needed. Including data reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in business or Supply chain/ Purchasing/ Inventory management or a related field.
• A good knowledge of wine would help greatly in this role. WSET or equivalent qualifications would be a plus.
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Understanding of global logistics and shipping, including common obstacles and effective solutions.
• Excellent organizational and management skills.
• Excellent verbal and email communication. Have strong interpersonal skills.
• Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to multi-task, work accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize the work load.
• Meticulous attention to detail; conscientious about quality and accuracy in work product
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision
SALARY RANGE CI$42,000-CI$50,000 per annum
LOCATION: Cayman Distributors Group, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
BENEFITS: In accordance with CI Labour Act
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time position up to 45 hours per week
