Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains sources of supply, negotiating prices and delivery dates
  • Actively manage the sourcing pipeline to achieve and sustain competitive advantage.
  • Manage essential purchasing functions related to ensuring compliance with delivery, quality, and customer focus.
  • Maintain delivery dates and resolve any pricing discrepancies.
  • Assist in ERP system master data set up and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with all Purchasing and Production Planning ISO procedures.
  • Handle daily purchasing activities including but not limited to; issuing purchase orders, expediting, material returns, tracking and reporting of project specific materials.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Assist in year-end physical inventory (entering tag information).
  • Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years' progressive experience in Purchasing/Procurement field preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other MRP systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • An excellent memory and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivated and driven.
  • Able to exercise good judgement and make necessary decisions.

  • Understand applicable Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures in the workplace.

  • You may be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in a manufacturing environment (i.e., safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, high visibility vests, etc.).

Working Conditions

Physical Environment:

Requires use of office equipment including phone/switchboard, postal machine and copier.

Will be required to converse with other individuals such as, vendors, shipping and purchasing team members.

Workplace Hazards:

Risk of repetitive motion injuries or musculoskeletal strain.

At times will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment when entering the production floor.

May be exposed to noise, dust and hot/cold temperatures when in the production area.

Team & Work Environment:

While the work is primarily independent, it will require interdepartmental teams and external stakeholders.

Communication will be essential for managing vendor interactions, whether in person or over the phone

Effort Requirements

Physical Effort:

  • Move and lift objects of up to 15 pounds
  • Moderate amount of time sitting

Mental & Cognitive Effort:

  • Verbally converse with other individuals
  • Use of office equipment including telephone, personal computer, calculator and copy machine.
  • Ability to audit, evaluate, and report concerns and recommendations.

Pace & Productivity Expectations:

  • Ability to react to fast pace demands
