The Purchasing Analyst is responsible for executing purchase orders, monitoring supplier performance, and supporting day-to-day supply execution activities for assigned materials or vendors.
This role focuses on learning procurement processes, managing routine supply execution, and developing foundational skills in supplier communication, inventory management, and issue resolution while working closely with Supply Planning, S&OP, and Operations teams.
Execute purchase orders in accordance with planning recommendations, contracts, and supplier agreements.
Monitor open orders, delivery performance, and supplier confirmations; follow up on routine discrepancies or delays.
Support identification and escalation of supply risks, shortages, and delivery issues to senior Purchasing Analysts or supervisors.
Communicate order status and basic supply issues to internal stakeholders, including Supply Planning and Operations.
Maintain accurate procurement data, order records, and system transactions in ERP and related tools.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement execution, inventory accuracy, and supplier performance.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field. OR A minimum of 2 years of equivalent professional experience in purchasing, supply execution, operations, or related roles in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
Basic understanding of supply chain and procurement concepts.
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Ability to manage routine tasks and follow established processes.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic ERP navigation.
Willingness to learn and develop procurement and supplier management skills.
Internship or co-op experience in supply chain, procurement, or operations.
Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., Systems, Applications & Products in Data Processing (SAP), JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE), Oracle, etc.).
Experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or operations environment.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Primarily desk-based work in an office or hybrid environment.
Regular use of standard office equipment (computer, phone, collaboration tools).
Minimal travel expected (<5%).
Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer for prolonged durations.
Ability to work extended hours during planning cycles when needed.
