Hach-TH Water Quality Platform, a part of the Hach Company, is a leader in manufacturing and distributing analytical instruments and reagents used to test water quality and other liquid solutions. In response to the rapidly expanding reagent in water test business in Thailand, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Water Quality Thailand Group as a Purchasing Agent.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager – Order Fulfillment, Supply Chain & Logistics, the Purchasing Agent is responsible for end-to-end procurement of direct and indirect materials — chemicals, instrument components, packaging, MRO, and services — supporting Hach Thailand's manufacturing Distribution Center operations. The role establishes and maintains strategic sourcing relationships with emphasis on quality, delivery, and total cost, negotiates supplier contracts, and owns the purchase-order lifecycle within Oracle ERP.
The Purchasing Agent partners closely with Planning, Production, Quality, EHS, Import-Export, Finance, and Engineering to ensure uninterrupted supply, supports compliance with Thai Free Zone and hazardous-goods requirements.
What You'll Do
Sourcing & Vendor Management
Establish and maintain supply systems to ensure sufficient material supply for operations.
Maintain open lines of communication with suppliers for prompt resolution of quality and delivery.
Build and maintain a high level of knowledge about commodity suppliers and market conditions to support strategic sourcing decisions.
Monitor supplier performance through scorecards; hold suppliers accountable to agreed service-level and quality targets.
Negotiation & Cost Management
Negotiate with suppliers to attain the lowest total cost of ownership.
Lead RFQ/RFP processes and support long-term contract negotiations and renewals.
Contribute to annual cost-out / Purchase Price Variance (PPV) targets and savings tracking.
Purchase Order & Data Management
Place and maintain purchase orders, blanket orders, and long-term agreements to support ongoing material supply.
Maintain ERP master data — vendor master, sourcing rules, lead times, MOQs, prices, and delivery terms — with high accuracy.
Process change orders, expedites, and order acknowledgments accurately and on time.
Compliance & Quality
Ensure procurement activity complies with Thai Free Zone, customs, and trade regulations in partnership with Import-Export.
Support sourcing of hazardous goods in line with IATA / IMDG / DOT standards and Hach EHS requirements.
Participate in ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 audits and maintain procurement procedure documentation and audit-readiness.
Help define, establish, and continuously improve Purchasing policies and procedures for internal training and certification.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Planning, Production, Quality, EHS, Import-Export, Finance, and Engineering to balance service, cost, and inventory goals.
Provide timely status updates on supplier quality or delivery issues to internal customers.
Support new product introductions, engineering change requests, and end-of-life material transitions.
Continuous Improvement
Leverage AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance procurement decision-making, including demand pattern analysis, supplier performance monitoring, and risk identification.
Identify procurement improvement opportunities; implement standard work and visual controls.
Apply Veralto Enterprise System (VES) tools — Daily Management, Kaizen, and Problem-Solving Process (PSP) — to drive supplier and process improvement.
Leverage data analytics to deliver spend visibility, supplier scorecards, and savings tracking.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
3–5 years' progressive experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Specialist, or Purchasing Agent in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Working knowledge of ERP / MRP systems with strong purchase-order and master-data discipline; Oracle EBS or Fusion preferred.
Demonstrated negotiation skills and supplier-relationship management.
Understanding of contract terms, JIT / demand-flow principles, and basic procurement legal and commercial concepts.
Strong business communication skills in English and Thai (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated AI utilization knowledge.
Experience procuring chemicals, instrument components, or regulated / hazardous materials.
Familiarity with Thai Free Zone customs and import-export workflows.
Advanced Excel proficiency for spend analysis, dashboards, and reporting.
Exposure to Lean, Kaizen, or other continuous-improvement methodologies.
Experience supporting ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 audits.
