We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented team player to join our dynamic team in the Bureau of Operations, Operational Support Services Section in the Division of Medical Quality Assurance. OSS is comprised of 5 teams, and the Purchasing Agent will support and interact with each of them in a variety of ways. The primary responsibility for this role will be legal advertising of health care disciplinary cases. Additional support tasks will include monthly spend plan reviews, quality control auditing, and approving purchasing card transactions for the section and bureau. This role is an opportunity to learn more about several aspects of the work that happens in MQA.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Responsible for legal advertising of health care disciplinary cases upon request from attorneys and staff, to include finding the proper newspaper, obtaining a price quote, requesting the advertisement, and maintaining the tracking and filing of legal advertisements for Prosecution Services.

Review spend plan report monthly to identify budget coding errors, encumbrances greater than the allotted amount, and expenditures greater than the allotted amount. Correct identified budget coding errors. Research encumbrance and spending concerns for review with OSS Section Manager.

Review Works purchasing card transactions and approve or flag at the approver level daily, including reviewing daily reports detailing transactions requiring sign off or approval.

Deliver international certified mail to the United States Post Office and purchase appropriate postage.

Order supplies through ODP and Amazon as needed.

Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with Florida's state software systems (FLAIR, FIS, FACTS, MFMP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel required).

Strong Communicator: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.

Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Employees in this position are expected to work in a professional office environment characterized by standard lighting, temperature, and moderate noise levels. The role requires the ability to manage periodic interruptions, perform duties within a confined workspace, and remain seated at a computer workstation for extended periods.
