A punch operator will take responsibility of producing sheet parts from a variety of metal materials in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This person will be responsible for a variety of machine set ups, general periodic maintenance, general raw material staging, basic part inspection and processing, and other operator duties.

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)

  • Follow Punch Operator Work Instructions as it defines the responsibilities of the punch operator in producing a quality part.
  • Ability to operate sheet lifters and forklifts to load and unload material from machines.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturing instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; contacting Operations Manager(s) for repairs
  • Communicates effectively among work shifts by relaying workload, irregularities, and production needs.
  • Work with material handlers to keep material and parts flowing thru the punch area in an effective/safe manner.
  • Take measurements accurately using various measurement tools.
  • Maintaining equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to work OT with little notice when required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: high school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
  • Experience: minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Willing to assist in other areas as needed.
  • Skilled in reading and using measuring tools accurately.
  • Able to interpret basic blueprints.
