WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
We are seeking a Pump Station Designer to join our corporate office team, a pivotal role that serves as a technical subject matter expert supporting pump station system design and pre-order project activities. This position plays a critical role in helping engineers, municipalities, contractors, and project owners develop effective water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure solutions.
Reporting to our VP of Stormwater Solutions, you’ll support project success through technical design assistance, hydraulic system support, specification development, estimating coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll work closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams to ensure technical accuracy, quoting efficiency, and alignment with Jensen’s strategic growth initiatives.
A highlight of your day-to-day will include:
Technical Design & Engineering Support:
- Leading pump station design requests, including product selection, hydraulic sizing, layouts, and system configuration
- Preparing submittal packages, specification support documents, system layouts, and custom technical drawings
- Supporting engineers, municipalities, and contractors through design assistance, plan reviews, specification interpretation, and technical guidance
- Providing technical troubleshooting and application support to internal teams and customers
- Serving as a primary technical resource for pump station products, wet wells, valve vaults, controls, and related infrastructure systems
Project Coordination & Strategic Support:
- Managing and tracking design-phase project activities while maintaining accurate communication across internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborating with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams to support specified project opportunities and successful execution
- Leveraging available tools, vendor partnerships, and technical resources to improve project positioning and increase specification opportunities
- Contributing to process improvement initiatives that enhance speed, accuracy, customer experience, and operational efficiency
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Associate’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in drafting, engineering technology, construction, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical support, estimating, drafting, design coordination, or related roles within manufacturing, construction, water resources, or infrastructure industries
- Experience with pump stations, hydraulic systems, stormwater infrastructure, wastewater systems, or related civil/mechanical systems preferred
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, BlueBeam Revu, Salesforce CRM, and related pre-sales or technical support tools preferred
- Strong ability to review engineered drawings and specifications and translate them into practical, manufacturable solutions
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Demonstrated ability to support process improvement initiatives and contribute to system-focused problem solving
