INDUSTRY: Industrial Equipment Rental/Field Services
LOCATION: Midland, TX
CONTEXT: Our client operates a high-demand industrial equipment rental fleet and is seeking a skilled Pump Mechanic to join their team. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability, performance, and readiness of their large-scale fluid-handling equipment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical background, specific familiarity with heavy-duty trailer-mounted pumps, and a proactive approach to maintaining fleet uptime.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose, service, repair, and rebuild large, trailer-mounted industrial pumps within the rental fleet.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, including engine tune-ups, oil changes, and electrical/hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Conduct thorough pre-rental and post-rental inspections to ensure equipment meets strict safety and operational standards.
- Maintain accurate, detailed logs of all maintenance performed, parts ordered, and repair history.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized shop environment while adhering to all safety protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience working as a pump mechanic or heavy equipment technician.
- Direct, hands-on experience with Gorman-Rupp trash pumps (specifically 4x4, 6x6, and 8x6 trailer-mounted units) is highly preferred.
- Must possess a comprehensive set of personal hand tools and diagnostic equipment suitable for heavy mechanical repairs.
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle for transportation.
- Strong proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel/gas engines, hydraulic systems, and basic electrical systems.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision to meet tight fleet deadlines.
