About Equativ Japan KK

Founded in February 2025, Equativ Japan K.K. is based at WeWork KDX Toranomon. Our team of eight reflects a diverse, multicultural environment, with English and Japanese as our primary working languages. We currently observe a work-from-home policy on Wednesdays, which will extend to both Wednesdays and Thursdays from September 1.

Equativ Japan K.K. currently serves more than 20 premium publishers in Japan, including Kodansha, Shueisha, Hearst Fujingaho, Condé Nast, Sankei, Magazine House, Shogakukan, Yomiuri, and Asahi Shimbun, as well as broadcasters such as TBS and KTV.

Our unique value proposition is rooted in a strong commitment to transparency, ensuring fair value for publishers while driving meaningful incremental premium demand. This is supported by deep expertise in high-growth formats, including mobile interscroller, CTV, gaming, and more.

About the team


The Key Account Management team gathers straightforward, energetic and results-driven individuals that bring our advertising products to the market. They build long-term relationships with a wide range of publishers and partners, guiding them to grow their online advertising business and stay on top of industry trends and technology best practices.

Key day-to-day responsibilities

  • Drive the growth and long-term success of strategic publisher accounts.

  • Actively prospect, negotiate, and sign new publisher business across Japan

  • Manage the full customer lifecycle, including contracts, invoicing and account growth

  • Serve as the primary client advocate, collaborating across Product, Analytics, Quality, Global, and Demand teams to resolve issues, ensure campaign inventory, and drive new revenue opportunities

  • Proactively identify business challenges and propose strategic solutions that align with client goals

  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to demonstrate ROI and value

  • Propose and implement solutions to improve operational effectiveness and elevate internal process efficiency

About you

  • Professional working proficiency in both English and Japanese

  • 8+ years of experience within the Media and AdTech industry

  • Proven experience working in a global, distributed team environment.

  • Experience in managing customer accounts with an analytical and consultative approach

  • Good understanding of the programmatic landscape including SSP, DSPs and IAB standards

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Proactive mindset, problem-solver and multitasker who remains cool under pressure

  • A highly autonomous individual who takes initiative, rolls up their sleeves, and demonstrates full ownership of their role
