The Job Profile

Simon & Schuster Australia are looking for an enthusiastic Publicist to join the team. Reporting to the Publicity Manager, the candidate for the role will coordinate successful publicity campaigns on a range of Simon & Schuster and imprints fiction and non-fiction titles.

The Job Role

The role involves executing imaginative, effective and impactful publicity campaigns, working closely with the publishing, marketing, and sales teams to deliver fully integrated promotional plans.

The Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have experience developing and delivering creative publicity campaigns across traditional and digital media, as well as coordinating events and book tours of varying sizes.

They will have strong media awareness, a growing network of contacts and the confidence to build effective relationships with authors, journalists, booksellers and event partners. While the role will work across a wide variety of titles, we are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in, or a passion for, non-fiction and literary publishing.

Strong organisational and multitasking skills are essential, together with innovative thinking, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple campaigns and competing deadlines. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with a diverse range of authors and will bring a collaborative, enthusiastic and proactive approach to the publicity team.
