This is a new post in the Integrated Public Transport Strategy Unit in the Transport Integration and Connectivity (TIC) Directorate and will be crucial in realising the aims of the Directorate. The Public Transport Fares and Funding Reform Lead is responsible for leading the strategic review of public transport fares and funding, with oversight of the delivery of its development and recommendations, to advance the actions required to support public service reform and ensure the financial sustainability of the public transport system.
The TIC Directorate supports the National Transport Strategy aims to integrate the public transport network, protect our climate and improve the lives of the people of Scotland.
TIC brings integrated public transport, accessibility and connectivity expertise into one Directorate to facilitate more seamless collaboration across modes and policies. It will identify opportunities to improve the financial sustainability of the public transport operating model in Scotland, working closely with colleagues across Transport Scotland with responsibilities for car use reduction and demand management, transport governance, integrated ticketing and with specific responsibilities for how fares and funding are managed across modes within the public transport system.
