Autodesk provides innovative solutions that enable these organizations to improve efficiency across the asset lifecycle through enhanced collaboration, workflow digitization, data-driven insights, and digital twin capabilities. To support this mission, we are seeking a Public Sector Sales Manager to drive growth within the government segment. This role will focus on executing sales strategies, managing key accounts, and leading a team of sales professionals to expand Autodesk’s footprint across public sector customers.
Responsibilities
Sales Execution & Team Management
Lead and manage a team of public sector sales representatives, setting clear targets and driving performance against revenue goals
Provide coaching, guidance, and regular performance feedback to ensure team effectiveness
Territory & Account Planning
Execute sales strategies aligned with regional or national public sector priorities
Develop and implement account plans for key government customers
Business Development
Identify and pursue new opportunities across government agencies (central, state, and local)
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, and decision-makers
Account Management
Manage strategic accounts to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and growth
Drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts
Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with Marketing, Pre-sales, Channel, and Customer Success teams to support pipeline generation and deal execution
Market & Customer Insights
Stay informed on public sector trends, procurement processes, and competitive positioning
Provide feedback to internal teams to refine go-to-market strategies
Pipeline & Reporting
Track pipeline health, forecast accurately, and report on sales performance
Use CRM tools to maintain visibility and drive data-driven decision-making
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
8–12 years of overall sales experience, with 3–5 years in a leadership role within government/public sector sales
Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes and sales cycles
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Experience in account planning methodologies (e.g., TAS, Value-Based Selling)
Familiarity with CRM tools and sales analytics
Ability to work cross-functionally and drive execution in a matrixed environment
Willingness to travel (~30–40%)

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
