Job Description
The purpose of this position is to support the Public Safety Communiations center by providing various services and programs that contribute to maintaining campus safety. Engagement in the communications center, receiving emergency and non-emergency calls, monitor computerized alarm and access control systems, and provide police and EMS dispatch and radio communication management.
Purpose:
- Receive and relay information for service by telephone and two-way radio. Record all information in the daily Activity Report log.
- Actively monitor pending events Queue, dispatch events by priority and availability of units.
- Operate security command center: to include monitoring CCTV systems, access control systems, digital alarm receivers, and fire and burglar systems.
- Assist and/or educate students and staff in crime prevention techniques, and processes.
- Cooperate with campus staff and external law enforcement agencies conducting investigations.

- Ability to adhere to the standards and regulations of the University and legal environment.
- Experience with Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management System, Criminal Justice Information Systems terminals, computerized alarm monitoring systems, computerized access control systems or other computer or technical systems.
- Knowledge of and ability to accurately interpret applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations.
- Dedication and commitment to assisting others in a diverse population setting.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Experience/Education:

• Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.

Pay rate: Minimum Wage
