The Role

The PR Assistant role is designed for those new to PR. PR Assistants support account teams on various client projects while also building relationships with media and influencers in order to ensure brand|client coverage.

Schedule: Must be willing to travel to our Madison office. In-office every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Remote Monday, Friday. 9-6pm EST

Compensation is $20.00 per hour, eligible for overtime.

Media|InfluencerRelations

• Securesuniqueplacementsusingmediaoutreach(phoneandemailpitching),toinclude

• 5-10uniqueplacementsamonthinTier3orhigheroutlets

• Providessocialmedia/competitive intelreportand contributestocreativeideation/newpitchconceptsthat can be shared with clients

• Monitors trend/industrynews forclientcoverage foraccountteamreview;mayassistwithcompilingtrend and industry research into client-facing email or agenda updates

• Supportsweeklycoverageuploadandreportingwithinagency’sdashboard

• Researchesandbuildsmediaandinfluencerlists

• Assistsaccountteamswithresearchingclientspeakingopportunities,industryawards,andcompetitoranalysis

AccountManagement

• Maysitinonconferencecalls(target1–2callspermonthforeachclient)

• Participatesinbrainstorms

• Assiststheteam intrackingmediahits, influencerengagementmetrics,andupdatesinmonthlyand quarterly activity reports

• Executesvariousclientprogramcomponents

• Supportsaccount teamswithclienteventlogisticsand dailytasksinvolved

• Assistswithpresskitsandmediamailers,sample requests,andinventorytracking

• Providesresearchsupportforaccountteams

Writing|Editing

• Draftsclient readyemailsformanagerreview,pressmaterials,creativepitches,helpscontribute tosections of event/launch strategy docs, and other client communications

Qualifications

EducationBachelor’sDegree(communications,liberalarts,businessormarketingfocuspreferred)

Skills & Abilities RequiredStrong writing (AP style), editing,listeningand verbal communications skills. Resourceful and solutions focused. Capable of multitasking,prioritizingand organizing. Excellent attention to detail. Self-motivatedandabletoworkwellinacollaborativeenvironmentaswellasindividually.Effectivelymanages time, follows up,and isresults driven.Proficiencyin Microsoft Office applications and use/development of mediadatabases.
