Job Title Public Area Attendant

Department: Housekeeping

Supervision Exercised: N/A

Supervision Received: Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Supervisor

The Public Area Attendant will service and maintain the cleanliness of all public areas including public and associate restrooms, associate cafeteria, lobby areas, banquet spaces and hotel offices in accordance with brand standards.

Job Duties include the following:

Operations:

  • Clean and maintain lobby, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and public areas.

  • Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish surfaces as required.

  • Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.

  • Maintain cleanliness and restocking of public restrooms.

  • Ensure all furniture, décor, and fixtures in public areas are clean and tidy.

  • Monitor lobby appearance throughout the shift and address issues promptly.

  • Respond to guest requests and provide assistance courteously.

  • Perform special projects as assigned by management.

  • Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to management.

  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.

Job Knowledge:

  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures is preferred.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Previous cleaning, janitorial, or housekeeping experience preferred.

  • Hospitality environment experience a plus.

  • Able to work with little or no supervision

  • Must meet grooming standards

  • Strong attention to detail as it pertains to cleanliness standards

  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and at times overtime depending on business needs
