Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the GRM Regulatory Affairs & Risk Reporting team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis, commencing at the earliest possible date as a Public Affairs Advisor Regulation and Insurance

The Regulatory Affairs & Risk Reporting team is responsible, among other things, for public affairs and the representation of the company's interests, internal and external risk reporting, as well as managing relations with the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) and the monitoring of geopolitical risks.

You can look forward to

  • Acting as a central interface to external stakeholders, policymakers and supervisory authorities, as well as to internal departments (e.g. Underwriting) and international locations
  • Monitoring international developments in the insurance and financial sectors
  • Analysing regulatory and legislative initiatives at national and international level (including insurance supervision, financial market regulation and sustainability)
  • Developing well-founded positions, statements and policy assessments
  • Active lobbying and representing the company’s interests towards regulators, political decision-makers and expert committees at national and international level
  • Contributing to the further development of regulatory frameworks for (re)insurance
  • Building and maintaining an international network within the (re)insurance industry

You come equipped with

  • A completed Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Insurance, Public Policy or a related field
  • Professional experience in an insurance, financial or regulatory environment (e.g. trade association, supervisory authority, consultancy, financial industry, regulatory/public affairs or lobbying) is an advantage
  • Knowledge of insurance regulation and the national and European financial market framework, as well as the ability to quickly familiarise yourself with complex topics
  • Initial experience in preparing analyses, statements and strategic concepts
  • A solid understanding of political decision-making processes and stakeholder management, with the ability to operate confidently in different political and regulatory contexts
  • Negotiation-level German and English skills combined with strong communication abilities and pronounced teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to travel - approximately every two months, with some peak periods for committee meetings within Germany or Europe
