  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $116,981 to $129,492 + super

Play a key role in shaping public perception and promoting vital government initiatives. The NSW Reconstruction Authority is seeking a skilled Public Affairs Advisor to support media engagement and deliver impactful communications that enhance the Authority’s reputation and public trust.

About the role

As the Public Affairs Advisor, you will provide expert media and public affairs advice across the Authority, contributing to strategic communications that support government announcements, public education campaigns and stakeholder engagement.

You’ll craft media materials, manage digital content, coordinate media events, and analyse engagement outcomes to continuously improve communication efforts.

About You

You bring proven experience in media relations and communications within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. You’re confident preparing content for diverse platforms, advising internal teams and navigating complex stakeholder landscapes.

Your understanding of government priorities, ability to manage competing demands, and commitment to clear, effective messaging make you a trusted communications partner.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in journalism, media, communications or public relations and other relevant media-based experience and/or equivalent relevant experience

  • Experience in media relations, journalism or public relations

  • Strong writing skills

  • After hours, on call and weekend work is required on occasion

The NSW Reconstruction Authority is a statutory corporation and executive agency of the Premier’s Department, that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster.
