Production Operator – Ringwood, IL

Huntsman is seeking a Production Operator supporting the Performance Products Division located in Ringwood, Illinois This position will report to the Production Supervisor

Job Scope

The Production Operator is responsible for safely operating manufacturing equipment and supporting production processes to ensure quality standards, operational efficiency, and customer requirements are met. This role involves operating various manufacturing systems, conducting quality checks, handling raw materials and finished products, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve production goals while adhering to environmental, health, and safety standards.

In summary, as the Production Operator, you will:

  • Operate manufacturing equipment including mixing/blending, granulation, bagging, and extrusion systems.
  • Verify raw materials and finished goods against batch documentation and packaging requirements.
  • Transfer and store materials manually or using seated and standing forklifts.
  • Perform quality control testing and make process adjustments based on test results.
  • Accurately complete production documentation and data entry requirements.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams.
  • Participate in required company training programs.
  • Follow all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate seated and standing forklifts.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating day/night shift schedule, including overtime as required.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors, malfunctions, and process deviations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and production procedures.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating extrusion equipment.
  • Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Prior experience performing quality control testing in a manufacturing environment.

Working Environment

  • Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to production equipment and industrial processes.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times as designated.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb stairs and ladders, balance, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
