Job Description

Responsible for validation, installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement of test processes and equipment for power electronics (power modules and inverters) used in electric vehicles.

This role ensures safe operation, functionality, HV/LV isolation, and thermal performance of the product through robust test methods in both subassemblies and final assembly (EOL).

It is a hands-on role in manufacturing, focused on testing, not design.

  • Validate the safe operation and functional performance of power modules and inverter assemblies, ensuring correct behavior under defined electrical conditions and production constraints.
  • Execute and interpret HV isolation tests (HiPot / insulation resistance), confirming proper separation between high-voltage and low-voltage circuits and ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
  • Verify inverter functionality at end-of-line (EOL) through system-level checks (ISC), confirming correct switching behavior, signal response, and overall system readiness.
  • Work with and understand typical inverter EOL test sequences, including:
    • System initiation and readiness checks
    • IPM temperature sensor verification
    • HV DC voltage feedback validation
    • HV DC safety discharge resistor verification
    • Current sensor calibration (phases U & W)
    • Full current test under controlled conditions (short duration)
    • NVM verification, controlled shutdown, and PCB-level checks
  • Evaluate the thermal behavior of power devices (SiC MOSFETs / IGBTs), analyzing performance under load and understanding the impact of thermal resistance (Rth) and thermal impedance (Zth) on reliability and operation.
  • Install, validate, and bring up test equipment in production, including setup, calibration, correlation, and ensuring stable and repeatable operation during ramp-up.
  • Define and maintain test parameters, limits, and pass/fail criteria, aligned with product safety, functionality, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Troubleshoot test failures in production, identifying whether the source is related to the unit, the test system, or process/environmental variation, and driving corrective actions.
  • Use electrical measurements (voltage, current, temperature, insulation) to support validation, failure analysis, and continuous improvement of test processes.

Please read carefully the required qualifications before applying:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering ( Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or related field).

  • Required Qualifications

    • Experience in testing power electronics systems, ideally in automotive inverters or power modules.
    • Hands-on experience with:
      • High Voltage (HV) systems and safety practices
      • Isolation testing (HiPot / insulation resistance)
      • Functional validation in a production environment
    • Understanding of power semiconductor behavior (SiC MOSFETs / IGBTs), including:
      • Switching characteristics
      • Losses and thermal behavior
      • Thermal resistance (Rth) and thermal impedance (Zth)
    • Experience with test equipment installation and commissioning, including validation and ramp-up.
    • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot using electrical measurements (voltage, current, temperature, insulation).
    • Experience working under production conditions, balancing quality, safety, and timing.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in high-reliability or automotive power electronics manufacturing.
    • Knowledge of IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC-7095).
    • Experience correlating process parameters with defect generation.
    • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Language Skills: Advanced proficiency in English (written and verbal) to support global reporting, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
