​​This position provides support for the non-teaching portion of LCC Science Department laboratory courses, including Physical Sciences, Integrated Science, Biology, and Chemistry. Responsibilities include purchasing, repair, and laboratory set up of materials for these courses. This position must be familiar with basic science concepts and standard computer operations. Adherence to good laboratory practices (GLP’s), safe handling of material, and compliant disposal procedures is required. Campuses included are Downtown and East Campus.​

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan.

Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.

Required Qualifications:

​​Associate’s degree in a STEM major or equivalent combination of education and experience.

​Familiarity with scientific software applications.

​One year or more work experience in an applied science or related field.​

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated lab experience in any combination of the following disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, or Physics.

Demonstrated experience in mentorship or mentor training

​​Demonstrated experience in equipment maintenance and repair.
