Summary
The Part-Time Talent Specialist will work with the Director of Talent Acquisition and CHS leadership to help identify talent and meet recruiting needs in the agency and to build a diverse and qualified team for the agency. They will seek out qualified applicants by creating and maintaining a diverse recruiting network. They will assist CHS leadership and be engaged in the process of recruiting, hiring, interviewing, and onboarding to ensure the agency has a qualified diverse candidate pool for open positions. This position supports CHS hiring activities statewide.
Primary Job Functions
- Duties
- Help develop, facilitate, and implement all phases of the recruitment process
- Recruit and network to build a diverse candidate pool through social media platforms, community partners, networking events, and job fairs
- Build and foster relationships and connections with colleges across the state of North Carolina for recruiting top talent.
- Help to integrate an internship program that fosters development and experience and future talent for CHS
- Partner with Director of Talent Acquisition, HR, and hiring managers to establish talent needs, essential job requirements for talent profiles, and competitive salaries for positions prior to posting for consistency across the organization.
- Assist with management of an internal posting process that communicates our openings effectively across our organization.
- Continue to build on our current job posting processes to improve the connection of talent needs with Human Resources so we can serve as the main sourcing vehicle.
- Gain an understanding of our current recruiting and hiring practices as you build a framework to help our program leaders find talent through social media and other practices with program alliances, community boards, colleges and other partnerships and search firms.
- Pre-screen applicants and select qualified candidates for leadership consideration
- Partner with Director of TA to build a framework for screening applicants, recommendations to leaders, scheduling interviews, and creating a review committee to make sure we have a diverse pool of candidates to consider.
- Provide coaching on interview techniques, legal and illegal questions, and best practice onboarding
- Work with our Marketing team to build our brand for recruiting
- Collaborate with the hiring manager during the offer process to create offer, make offer, determine start dates, and other pertinent details
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies and practices
- Partner with HR Team Members in HR and Talent related projects
- Contribute to a positive, engaging work environment.

Schedule Expectations
This position is an hourly nonexempt job that may require some weekends and evening work. Along with working our standard scheduled week. The ability to work flexible hours is required to meet business needs. If working remotely, will be required to be available by telephone and email during specified hours as required. Some travel required to conduct business-related activities.
