
The nationally recognized Medicine in Psychiatry Services (MIPS) Division of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry invites applications for a part-time Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or dually boarded physician to serve as an outpatient physician in a unique primary care clinic designed to help care for the medical needs of patients with severe mental illnesses. The MIPS-PC clinic, an accredited patient-centered medical home, is located alongside the Department's community and addiction psychiatry clinics and works closely with mental health services to improve care for patients who have little or no engagement in traditional outpatient medical care or who would benefit from a tailored medical approach that takes their psychiatric illness into account.
This part-time position includes an academic appointment with University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry at the rank of Senior Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor, commensurate with experience and accomplishments, and ample opportunities for faculty development within a robust tradition of mentorship. The physician will have a primary appointment with the Department of Psychiatry and a secondary appointment with their respective department of Medicine or Family Medicine, depending on postgraduate training. They will also have a medical staff appointment at Strong Memorial Hospital. Teaching and clinical supervision of trainees is an integral part of this position, along with involvement in process improvement and program development.

Compensation includes an excellent, nationally competitive base salary, with bonus/moonlighting opportunities, loan forgiveness program, annual CME allotment, and generous benefits package through the University, including a retirement program and tuition benefits.
Total annual compensation ranges by faculty rank for part-time (.50 FTE):
Sr. Instructor $110,200 - $142,500
Asst Professor $115,900 - $153,100
Assoc Professor $127,437 - $168,020
MD or equivalent
ABMS or AOA board certified (or eligible) prior to start
NYS medical licensure prior to start
Unrestricted DEA prior to start

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
