BASIC PURPOSE
The Dishwasher is responsible for janitorial and supportive kitchen tasks to ensure that the kitchen and dining areas are clean and prepared for customers.
MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES
1. Ensures the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, flatware, and resetting dining areas.
2. Prepares dining areas and kitchen for next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations.
3. Cleans machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, mixers, etc.
4. Unloads and stores deliveries.
5. Sweeps and mops floors.
6. Cleans floors when items are broken or spilled.
7. Takes out trash and rinses garbage cans.
8. Supports other restaurant staff members by assisting with tasks as needed.
9. Reports kitchen accidents or violation of food safety codes and procedures.
10. Obey all federal, state, and local laws.
11. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
· Works in a well-lighted, temperature-controlled area.
· Physical exertion required including continuous standing and walking. Frequent stooping, reaching, handling and lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
· Strong problem solving and communication skills.
· Ability to comply with all food safety procedures.
· Minimal exposure to infectious diseases.
· Physical job demands may be subject to possible modifications to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Licensure/ Certification: NA
Experience: 1 year experience preferred

The Davis Community is a 501(c)3 organization located in Wilmington, North Carolina. Founded in 1963 the 50+ acre campus has grown from a single nursing home to now include the Health Care Center, a skilled nursing facility, Champions Assisted Living, the Rehabilitation & Wellness Pavilion, The Cottages and The Residences Independent Living, and Davis Health and Wellness at Cambridge Village of Wilmington. The Rehabilitation & Wellness Pavilion features 20 private rooms for short-term rehabilitation and is also home to a membership-based health club for seniors over the age of 55. The Wellness Center boasts the latest fitness equipment as well as a warm, saltwater pool for exercise and therapy. The more than 30 physical, occupational, and speech therapists are part of the skilled nursing and medical team providing inpatient and outpatient services to residents and guests from the community.
Skilled nursing is provided in a household model of care led by a household coordinator and a dedicated team skilled in meeting the personal care needs of each resident.
The Davis Community also offers home care services in select Porters Neck, Landfall, and other defined neighborhood communities.
