Job Description

The Banquet Porter reports directly to the Banquet Manager and is responsible for the physical set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of banquet rooms, meeting spaces, and event areas within a high-volume casino and resort environment. This role supports the successful execution of events by ensuring all rooms are set to specification, service areas are clean and organized, and operational readiness is maintained at all times. The Banquet Porter will also assist with basic food and beverage service when required, contributing to a seamless and high-quality guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute room set-ups and tear-downs for banquets, meetings, and events in accordance with event orders and specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of banquet rooms, pre-function areas, service corridors, and storage spaces.
  • Set up and maintain buffet stations, coffee stations, and service equipment.
  • Assist with moving and arranging furniture, staging, and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Support service teams by clearing tables, resetting spaces, stocking supplies, and assisting servers as required.
  • Provide food and beverage service support
  • Ensure all event materials are stocked, maintained, and readily available.
  • Communicate effectively with culinary, service, and leadership teams.
  • Ensure compliance with AGCO, Smart Serve, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and report hazards.
  • Support continuous improvement in event execution processes.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Food & Beverage operations; banquet experience an asset.
  • Valid Smart Serve certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specifications.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service

Work Environment Considerations:

  • Fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying equipment. Exposure to noise and large crowds. Flexible schedule required including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
