Job Profile Summary:
Responsible for psychological/neuropsychological assessment of patients, timely preparation of results and draft reports, records management, and maintaining all equipment and supplies needed for services. Works closely with and supervised by faculty neuropsychologists and lead psychometrist (if available).
I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Plan formal neuropsychological assessments and implement intervention strategies for both inpatient and outpatient individuals referred for neuropsychological services.
2. Administer and score standardized psychological/neuropsychological tests to adults.
3. Review electronic medical record and other records of referred patients for evaluation.
4. Interview, record appropriate information, and evaluate all patients for neuropsychological functioning and testing.
5. Assist the faculty neurologists in clinical examination of patients.
6. Analyze assessment findings to the degree specified to complete preliminary consultation reports, clinical progress notes, outpatient reports and drafts of scientific reports.
7. Receive and record consultation requests from services; coordinate with the faculty for examination procedures.
8. Present clinical findings and impression from in-patient assessments and other specialty procedures to faculty neuropsychologists/neurologists, and/or lead psychometrist.
9. May provide effort in clinical research and present research results at scientific meetings, seminars and journal clubs.
10. Inventory and maintain adequate testing supplies, forms, and related materials at practice sites; maintain sites in orderly fashion.
11. Maintain patient records file system as per established procedures and as required by law.
12. Coordinate any equipment and material orders with the clinic director and department secretary.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field
Preferred:
1. Active Certification by the Board of Certified Psychometrists.
Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. 3 years clinical experience in related area.
2. Relevant employment within the past 5 years.
3. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal and computer skills; ability to communicate effectively and to work with patients of all levels.
4. Excellent communication skills to impart complex test results to other professionals.
5. Incumbent must be able to pay meticulous attention to detail for accurate test instrument completion, scoring and data entry.
6. Candidate must possess interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and staff.
7. The incumbent must be able to work comfortably with computer software for testing and reporting, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Preferred:
1. Previous experience in the psychometrist role.
2. Previous experience with patients having cognitive and neurological disorders.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies and their measurements, will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.
III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
Position requires work indoors most often in an office environment. This includes standing, walking, running, reaching, bending, lifting, and stooping.
