The Psychometrist role is a highly specialized position within neuropsychology that plays an integral part in the evaluation and care of patients with neurological and cognitive concerns. In this role, you will administer and score cognitive and psychological assessments while working closely with providers to supportaccuratediagnosis and treatment planning. This position is detail-oriented, patient-facing, and clinically focused, offering the opportunity to build meaningful patient interactions while contributing to a structured and collaborative care environment.

A caregiver in this position worksfull-time| days| 7:30am—4:00pm or 8:00am—430pm| no weekends or holidays| on site 5 days.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Administer, score and reportresultsof many age-appropriate neuropsychological tests on patients with a wide range of known or suspected neurological conditions.

  • Accurately record responses, times and scores and write detailed behavioral observations concerning patient performance during testing.

  • Remainalertof cognitive deficitsdemonstratedby each patient.

  • Encourage the patient to always givetheirbest performance on a given test.

  • Remain sensitive,alertand resourceful during testingtotailor the approach to patientneeds (especially when working with patients who have severe impairments or behavioral issues

  • Maintainrecord keeping and data retrieval systems associated with test batteries.

  • AssistotherPsychometrists as necessary

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor’s DegreeinPsychologyorarelated field

  • Educational training sufficient to understand neuropsychology clinical terminology

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Experience with neuropsychological behavioral assessments and test batteries

  • Course work in psychological tests and measurement

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination.
  • Requires frequent standing and walking
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • May require moving patients in wheelchairs over short distances.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
