Division Within the Psychology Department at ELMHS, Located in Jackson, LA

The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric care are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana.

ELMHS is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join the Psychology Department as a Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow or Psychologist! The selected candidate will provide coordinated patient care, deliver psychological evaluations and court testimony, support clinical training programs, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and staff.

Job Duties:

  • Works to provide resources and support needed to provide uninterrupted and appropriate patient care.
  • Provides documentation to the court and court testimony as needed, which is helpful in determining a person's competence to stand trial and other psychological issues.
  • May contribute to and assist in the specialized training programs for the development of the internship program and the Tulane Postdoctoral Fellowship at ELMHS.
  • Interacts with professional peers and other staff appropriately and cooperatively.
  • Participates in educational trainings and competency requirements as mandated for accreditation and licensure of the facility, as well as mandated by all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of LDH, OBH, ELMHS, and Civil Service.

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellow, Psychologist 2, or Psychologist 3 based on experience

Compensation:

  • This position has a SER of
    • $36.56 an hour or $2924.80 bi-weekly for Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellow
    • $39.12 an hour or $3129.60 bi-weekly for Psychologist 2
    • $44.79 an hour or $3583.20 bi-weekly for Psychologist 3
  • This position is eligible for the following premium pays (Per Hour Physically Worked):
    • Facility Longevity of $1.00 an hour
    • Location-based pay of $2.00 an hour
